*What is a podcast? When Apple developed the IPod to download music from the internet, it created a site to download music to the Ipod. The possibility developed for radio shows to be downloaded as well. A downloaded radio show or instructional broadcast is a podcast. It is stored on a computer or IPod as an mp3** file.**Ok, so what is an mp3 file? It is one of the most commonly used types of audio file. The notation mp3 indicates that the file is in conformity with the motion picture standard.
***What is a podcast site? An easy one to use is Itunes.com. It involves downloading free software to your computer. After downloading Itunes software, go to the Itunes store. Click in the left column on podcasts. In podcasts, go to the advanced button at the top of the page. Then click on subscribe and enter www.DrBeckham.com/podcasts/DrBeckhamPodcast.xml.
Or
in the podcast search section type
in
coping with stress
My podcast on that topic will appear, and you can subscribe to my podcast there.
You can download a podcast without subscribing to it. What's the difference? Look at the example of my itunes listing below:
If you were to double click on "More on Negative Thinking," it would download only that talk. If you were to right click on Ed Beckham, Ph.D., and subscribe, then the program would automatically keep up with any new talks that I post.
